Pricing is listed on our product description pages. Pricing is set by the item, and not by the pound. Pricing will vary according to the size of the product, which is displayed on the product description page.
Shipping Policy
All of our orders are shipped via FedEx and will arrive at your front door no later than 2 days after the order has been shipped. Please view our Shipping Policy to learn more.
All orders will be shipped at the beginning of each week. Most orders will ship out on Monday with a few orders shipping out on Wednesday. We ship on these days to avoid weekends and ensure that your order arrives in wholesome and ready to use condition. All items are individually packaged in air tight packages and flash frozen to lock in freshness and flavor. All orders will be packaged and shipped in an insulated box with dry ice to ensure product remains frozen.
Free Shipping on Orders Over $200. All orders over $200 will be shipped on us at no extra charge to you.
Any order that does not meet $200 will be charged for shipping. Shipping costs will vary based on the size and destination of the order. We have done everything in our power to keep our shipping costs as low as possible.
To get an estimate of your shipping cost:

- Use our Estimate Shipping Tool to determine your shipping cost. (Tool is found on the right hand side of the page).
We ship orders on Monday and Wednesday of each week, shipping date is based on when the order was placed. See Shipping Policy for more details.

Yes, FedEx will leave the package at your front door. We do not require a signature for the package to be delivered, but we highly recommend that you are able to refrigerate your products as soon as possible once your package arrives. We will not be responsible for packages left out or not put away in a timely manner.
Also, if you are sending an order to someone else as a gift please inform the recipient of when they can expect the package to arrive in order that they can refrigerate the product in a timely manner.
No, we do not ship outside the US. And we only ship to the continental 48 states. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Virgin Islands.
About Our Products
Our beef is sourced from family ranchers throughout the Midwest who have a passion for animal care and wellbeing. Our cattle are raised on spacious pasturelands, where they are fed a 100% natural diet and allowed to mature as nature intended.
Our duroc pork is sourced from local farms right here in Minnesota. Our pork is raised the way nature intended with plenty of space to roam and burrow. Our pork is 100% all natural.
Our poultry is sourced from family farms in the beautiful rolling farmlands of Ohio. Our family farms use old traditional methods of farming to produce their crops and to raise their animals and chickens.
Our lamb is sourced from American ranchers throughout the Midwest and Pacific Coast. Our ranchers take pride in caring for their land and to their flocks. All of our lamb is raised outdoors with a healthy diets of natural grasses, crops and grains. Our ranchers have been recognized as a leader in producing only the best lamb products since 1963.
Our bison is raised naturally on family owned ranches in the North American plains. The plains offer the bison plenty of room to roam and they graze freely on natural grasses and crops creating a healthy and lean product.
Obviously, our seafood comes from the sea. But don't be mistaken, not all seafood comes from the sea. Within recent years more and more "seafood" is actually farm raised in large pools of water. Our product however is naturally raised in the open ocean and caught using traditional methods.
Organic certification is a certification process for producers of organic food. We must meet strict USDA requirements and file all necessary paperwork in order to be Certified Organic. This process is very extensive and allows consumers a peace of mind knowing that they are buying from a USDA regulated Certified Organic supplier.
We do not exclusively sell 100% grass-fed beef. However, all of our beef is naturally raised on a 100% vegetarian diet which includes grass, crops and grains. 100% Grass-fed beef has the tendency to be very tough and chewy which does not live up to our high standards here at Swanson Natural.
All of our beef is aged for a minimum of 21 days to ensure the product is tender and packed full of flavor. We currently do not offer Dry or Wet Aged Beef, however this is available via a custom order.
Storing Product
When your order arrives, we ask that you refrigerate the product as soon as possible. We prefer that you are home to accept the delivery, however in the case that you are not home the package will be left at your front door. We will not be responsible for spoiled product due to a failure on your part to refrigerate the product in a timely manner.
- Refrigerate: If you plan to use product within 1-3 days.
- Freeze: If you do not plan to use the product within the immediate future. We recommend using frozen product within 6 months to ensure highest product quality.
We recommend that you use thawed product within 1-3 days to ensure highest product quality. If you do not plan to use the product in the near future we recommend sticking the product in your freezer.
All meats are safe indefinitely while they are frozen. However, we recommend that all frozen product be used within 6 months to ensure highest product quality.

While it is possible to cook meat directly out of the freezer, we highly recommend following these instructions to ensure that you experience the best product quality possible. Listed below are two recommended ways in which you can safely thaw frozen meat:
Stick It In The Fridge - This is the best method for thawing frozen meat, however it does involve planning. Thawed products remain safe to use for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Thawed meats can be refrozen.
- 1 lb. of meat or less, will require about 24 hours in the refrigerator to thaw.
- 2-3 lbs. of meat or more, will require about 48 hours or more in the refrigerator to thaw.
Cold Water Bath - If you forgot to plan ahead, we recommend this method. Do not remove product from vacuum-sealed package. Submerge product in cold tap water. Cannot refreeze product if you use this method.
- Rule of thumb is to estimate about 30-45 minutes per pound to thaw in cold water.
Meat Terminology
USDA Prime Beef is the superior grade with amazing tenderness, juiciness, flavor and fine texture. Prime beef has the highest degree of fat marbling and is typically derived from younger cattle. Less than 3% of all beef produced in the US qualifies as Prime. You most likely will never see Prime beef for sale in a grocery store, rather it tends to be purchased by high-end restaurants and hotels.
USDA Choice Beef is the second highest graded beef and has less fat marbling than Prime. Choice will be slightly less tender, but just as juicy and flavorful with a slightly more coarse texture. Choice beef is still a very high quality grade of beef and will be sure to satisfy even the toughest critic.
Pink Slime is a chemical additive that large food service companies began to use in order to lower the cost of their ground beef products. Pink slime is lean finely textured beef (LFTB). Pink slime was first used in pet food and cooking oil and later approved for public consumption.
In 2001, it was approved by the USDA for limited human consumption and is used as a food additive in ground beef products as a filler. Pink slime contains low-grade beef trimmings and other meat by-products such as cartilage, connective tissue and sinew, which contain fat and small amounts of lean beef. The small amounts of lean beef are mechanically separated from the fat through the use of a centrifuge heated to approximately 100°F. The heating process liquefies the fat and facilitates the separation of lean beef from the fat and other meat by-products. The recovered beef material is then processed, heated, and treated with gaseous ammonia or citric acid to kill E. coli, salmonella, and other bacteria. When gaseous ammonia is used, after coming in contact with water in the meat, it forms into ammonium hydroxide. The product is finely ground, compressed into pellets or blocks, flash frozen and then shipped for use as an additive (wikipedia.org).
Swanson Natural never has and never will use pink slime in any of our ground beef products.
Ingredients and Nutritionals are not provided for single protein items (i.e.: beef, bison, fish, lamb, pork and poultry). We currently do not have nor are we required to have nutritional facts for our items because they are all single item ingredients. Nutrition Facts are something we are looking into adding in the future.

Problems with Received Orders
In an unlikely circumstance that your order does not arrive we ask that you do the following:
- Log In to your account and "Track Your Order". (If you are unsure how to do this see "How do I track my Order?" located above in the FAQ's).
- When you click "Track Your Order" a screen will open showing you the tracking progress of your order and expected delivery date. If you see that the package has been delivered but is not at your address please check the following:
- Double Check your Shipping Address - our shipping process is automated and we do not physically enter in the Shipping Address so it is crucial that you entered in the correct address.
- An incorrect Shipping Address voids our Guarantee.

Depending on the amount of time your order has been delayed the dry ice may have evaporated and the product may no longer be safe to eat. We have insurance policies in place with our shipping carrier FedEx to cover a situation of this sort.
We currently are unable to offer our customers the ability to select when their order is sent or to change the delivery date of their package. All orders will be processed and shipped as they are received via the web on a weekly basis.
We are looking into offering our customers the ability to select their delivery date, but at this point in time we will follow our standard procedures.

Pricing & Billing
No, you do not have to pay sales tax nor do you have to pay sales tax on shipping. Swanson Natural operates out of the state of Minnesota. Our items are tax exempt and therefore we do not have to charge our customers sales tax on purchases.
Your credit card will be charged immediately following your purchase. All credit card transactions will be verified through Authorize.net. All transactions are encrypted to protect your identity and information.
If you are issued a credit, you should see it appear on your account within 1-3 business days.
